The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting exceptional all-round students from diverse countries around the world to study at the University of Oxford. Established in the will of Cecil Rhodes, the Rhodes is the oldest and perhaps the most prestigious international scholarship programme in the world. It aims to nurture public-spirited leaders for the world's future, and to promote international understanding and peace. Rhodes Scholars are chosen on the basis of outstanding intellect, character, capacity for leadership, and commitment to service. The Rhodes Trust provides the Rhodes Scholarships in partnership with Second Century Founder, John McCall MacBain and other generous benefactors.
Rhodes House, Oxford, is the home of the Rhodes Scholarships and the Rhodes Trust (an educational charity whose principal activity is to administer and fund the Rhodes Scholarships). The beautiful gardens and principal rooms of Rhodes House are available for private functions.
